One of the Community Caucus’s primary points regarding open space was preserving the local ridgelines as emphasized in the Strawberry Community Plan. In the ensuing decades following the Strawberry Community Plan’s publishing, development has continued unabated along ridgelines throughout the area, most recently evidenced by the construction in 2017 along the Richardson Drive ridgeline overlooking the Seminary.
Along with the Richardson Drive ridgeline, local ridgelines, including those along Chapel Drive, Milland Drive, and De Silva Island, have been dominated with large residential units, leaving the portion of Chapel Drive on the Seminary property as one of the last undeveloped ridgelines in the entire Strawberry peninsula.
